Aerobics, weight lifting, cardio…or any combination of these. I don’t know where to start. I want to be able to lose weight but I also need toning.

Any combination of any of the three. As long as you’re getting your heart rate up, and keeping it there (running, swimming, playing sports) you’ll burn calories and/or fat. none of this works very well if you don’t watch what you eat though.
Cardio, cardio, cardio….If you do Pilates or The Firm you are in the right path. Nice butt, breast, waistline and overall figure! Once you lose the weight you go and get firm with weights.
well the great way to lose weight fast and safe is to eat in a healthy weight like fruits veggies and salads or that special k diet jog for like 1 hour everyday of the week hoped i helped
Its would be more of a combination of things. First you must start a healthy diet. Then a workout of cardio and free weights or machines can help you lose the weight and tone your body.
all of the above…i took an aerobics/kickboxing/yoga/Pilate’s class and in one month i lost 12 pounds and 2 pants sizes. You have to eat good and go to your class regularly…it will work.
A combination of Cardio and strength. Something that you like to do, because consistency will matter more than the specific activity.
but, the secret to losing weight and staying healthy can be summed up in 4 words.
eat less. exercise more.

Aerobics will help toning. Weight lifting is of little help. If you will not combine diet and aerobics then you will lose protiens along with fats. If you do three or four sessions / week of aerobic ( 20-30 minutes) then you will be fine. Cardio is just another form of aerobics.
Tell you a little secret ONE-reduce the AMOUNT OF FOOD you put in your mouth, consistantly, as in everyday. That is the secret to weight loss. You want a device or “course” then whatever workout program you do choose, wear a full body neoprene diving suit. Sounds crazy? Well you have to increase the bodies core tempurature to burn calories, a wetsuit is best suited for that. You dont see any fat swimmers do you? or fat surfers? or fat divers? Get yourself a “wetsuit” or divesuit and wear that while working out. To care for it, simply take it off when you’re done, turn it inside out and hose it off and allow it to drip dry. I have successfully maintained a trim waist line and am close to 50. So between not eating a whole pizza like i did when i was 17 i eat less and work out (not much) while wearing a sauna belt made of neoprene, the same stuff a wetsuit is made of. IT WORKS!

and i know this sounds crazy, but try yoga. my sister and i both tried it, i mostly did it as a joke, but we took daily classes in Charleston, S.C. over the summer and i gained four pounds (of muscle, that is) and my sister lost a much needed 21 pounds. try it, it will improve strength, posture, endurance ( helped me with my track running) and flexibility. it will be hard at first but you will improve rapidly. don’t get discouraged if you can’t stretch all the way for some moves, it takes time. and you don’t have to pay for classes, you can do yoga at home with an instructional video or an illistrative book.
