hey just thought I’d ask something to get some opinions on this. I havent had any problems with it, just curious to hear what other think. My cardio is always the same since thats what I am comfortable with and that’s what I love- I go on the treadmill, get it to the highest possible incline (15.0) and walk at 4.2 miles per hour (speed walking) for at least one hour. I have been doing this three times a week the past few months and combined with reducing my calories and eating lots of fruits and whole grains and no fast food or anything, I have gone from 130 in June to 113 now in Oct. In Sept I was 120, so I lost about 7 lbs or so this past month, just curious to hear what ppl think of my workout since you always hear suggestions to run more but I never see any posts recommending to walk UPHILL fast on the treadmill- yet it works for me!

I have access to a fitness center. While it is not consistent access, it will be available in our vacation home development. I would like to utilize it as best as possible. Which machines should I use? How long should I use any one machine? I hope this question is making sense. LOL
If three 30-minute cardio sessions are necessary for good results, should I split the 30 minutes between 2 or 3 machines (elliptical, treadmill, stairmaster, etc.)?

Try the elliptical! The treadmill can sometimes be too exhausting for a beginner. The elliptical works out all of the muscle groups and you control your own speed instead of setting a speed! Great toning and calorie burning!

treadmill…. but a good machine that alot of people do not use is the elliptical machine… you burn more calories and get a full body workout….

after trying both it feels like i’m putting less effort into the elliptical but i’ve heard mixed responses on which one is better..
by better cardio i mean which one is better to do when you want to burn fat, basically.
like if you were to use one or the other for maybe an hour a day.
my parents said i could pick one or the other to put in the extra room upstairs, so i can’t pick both

lots of sit ups
Stomach crunches
V sits
side ways sit ups
Do with with some weight….put some books on your chest as you do it (or water bottles are good too, as you can fill them up with more water as your strength improves).

Both are great and I do both but I prefer jump roping. You can do all sorts of different moves and I find it more fun. But both are great for cardio

the key to loosing weight is to obey all exercise will do is tighten the fat so eat small portions of food and eat healthey stay away frm carbs too

I feel very tired after I started this desk work job I was told its because I work at a desk all of the time.
I am also 80 pounds overweight and this job caused me to gain an extra 10 pounds.
I need this desk Job badly because it pays more money then my other Job that required me to do a lot of walking

I just did because my knees are in pretty bad shape (and unless I’m adopted, I expect I will have bad knees my whole life.) Has anyone ever made the switch to low-impact and shown IMPROVEMENT in their knees? Or is this just something I can do to keep a bad problem from getting worse?

i switched to. i still use the tread mill though, i walk on 7% incline, this burns the calories without the impact you get through running
