If you’re in your home, exercising to fitness DVD’s, is it STILL mandatory to wear sneakers? Why?

Question by Candy: If you’re in your home, exercising to fitness DVD’s, is it STILL mandatory to wear sneakers? Why?
I want to know if it would do any harm if I exercised on carpet with just my socks on b/c my sneakers rub against my toes & create corns & calluses. I mean, I’m going to be doing cardio salsa aerobics.

Answer by bananawarriors2002
Well, if you are doing cardio then it is best to have a firm support for your toe. Also, a good shoe keeps you balanced. You don’t want to be getting some black feet/toes.

Also in my gym that I own I require the proper shoes and attire be worn…. don’t want anybody having a weight fall down and break their toes or do some permanent structural damage to any of their tissue organs.

I’m also:

Answer by Mark C
Honestly, just switch up the regime abit in order to not plateau. Heck, even do some yoga. That stuffs intense, foreal.

Another way, when lifting weights, some days to different amounts of different weights, just do as many as you can of a lower weight, and just burn out, so to say.

If your aim is to lose weight too, I might suggest running and biking abit, aswell as cutting out the bad foods, if any left. Chips, processed stuff, anything like that, ick! Eat lean meats, chicken, fish, and carbs, like pasta, or even potatoes. This allows you to lose fat, but gain muscle.

Goodluck, and great work so far!

Health and fitness question. Is there somthing I can do or eat that will give me a ‘jump start’—?

Question by skinnywayne: Health and fitness question. Is there somthing I can do or eat that will give me a ‘jump start’—?
When I go to do my weight lifting routine? The first 15-20 mins or so of my work out are just brutal, I just cant get my mind and/or body into the zone. After I am in the zone tho everything goes fine. I always start by getting my heart rate up and strechting, eating some simple carb’s before hand, somtimes a small amount of caffinee. I am just wondering if there is a simple fix to this? Also I have been working out for many years, so I am not a newbie lol, just mabye mis informed :) … male 26 , 195 lbs.

Want to incorporate weight lifting into my fitness routine?

Question by AnswerMe: Want to incorporate weight lifting into my fitness routine?
Hello, I am 5’2″, 122 lbs, and female. I just started eating healthy a month ago, and I am a week into running Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays

Tue, Thur, Sat will become my muscle workout days.

All I have are strength bands, 3 lb dumbbells, and a workout mat.

I know I have to exercise certain groups each time.

What actual workouts do I do? I am a total beginner.

Best answer goes to someone who gives me an outline of what workouts to do on what days, and how to do these workouts.

Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Will
Total beginner and not a lot of equipment:

Tuesdays: Chest and Upper Body
Pushups, legs close together, legs wide apart, hands close to each other, hands wide, legs up on a chair/bench so you are going down further, arms up on a step/platform. Choose 3 exercises and do 3 sets.

Thursdays: Back and Arms
Bicep curls (regular), Hammer Curls (where you hold the dumbell vertical instead of horizontal like you are holding a hammer), overhead tripcep raises with dumbel, kickbacks.
For back, get a pull up bar and do some narrow and wide grip pullups.

Friday: Legs, abs
Squats (no weight or with your dumbells), lunges (no weight or with your dumbells), situps, leg lifts, crunches for abs.

Like you said, eat right, add in some protein to your diet, cut out the sweets. Good luck!

Where can I find Cardio Christmas Workout Music by the Fitness Company?

Question by Abby: Where can I find Cardio Christmas Workout Music by the Fitness Company?
My father and I used to buy a Christmas album each year, and we bought this album called Cardio Christmas Workout Music and it was by The Fitness Company. I searched on Amazon.com and this CD was listed there, but it was unavailable. I really wanted to surprise my dad with it again for this Christmas (we all think my mom threw it away because she didn’t care for it). Can anyone help me find this totally awesome album to surprise my dad?!

Is this a good cardio workout for melting fat and improving fitness?

Question by richard_jn: Is this a good cardio workout for melting fat and improving fitness?
5 minute warm up – brisk walk and slow jog
20 minute intervals – 1 minute jogging then 1 minute sprinting at varying speeds
2k rowing in best time – maximum effort (around 8 minutes currently)
10 minutes walking on incline 15% at 3.5mph
5 minute cool down – walking

total = 45 – 50 minutes. 6 days per week.

Best answer:

Answer by Sam M.
Sure, it sounds great, but it’s only healthy to do interval training once a week. So, for those 20 minutes, you could probably just run at 6mph or whatever speed you’re comfortable at.
