Your best ab exercises are as follows:

“Table Push Aways”…

Most people simply over eat and that is what prevents the abdominals from showing through. If you are already lean, than you need to build muscle. Effective abdominal exercises include:

Ab wheel roll outs
Deadlifts
Front Squats
Front Planks and Side Planks
Anti Rotation Press
Weighted Pushups
Turkish Get Ups

All of these exercises will avoid excess damage to your spine (the main goal) and provide a great muscular build.

As for chest exercises, I would recommend the following:

Bodyweight Pushups
Weighted Pushups
Dumbbell Bench Press
Incline dumbbell bench press

This is where I would start for chest. I would highly recommend becoming really good at pushups. Are they boring at times? Yes absolutely. However they are extremely effective and the chances of losing control and injuring yourself are slim to none.

As for food diet… I would recommend checking out the book called “Core Performance”. The nutritional plan is extremely simple and effective. The workout plan is world class and I cannot say that you can go wrong by purchasing it for a small price.

Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Can I keep gaining muscle on a very low calorie diet?

Question by nswlawson2: Can I keep gaining muscle on a very low calorie diet?
I’ve been on a pretty calorie restricted diet(800-1200 calories a day) starting about four months ago while also on a weight lifting program. I’m 30 years old, 5′-10″ and started out at 285lbs. I’ve lost more than half the weight I think I need to lose(down to just under 200lbs this week.) The problem is I also need to add muscle, and while in the beginning I noticed my strength increasing, lately it’s seemed to stall almost completely.

I’ve tried a few different things thinking it was my workouts and not my diet. I’ve tried changing up my weight lifting routines, increasing my workouts to every day of the week and lifting heavier weights for less reps. I’ve been told you need lots of protein to rebuild muscle, but I push myself until I can’t do anymore reps and my muscles are not even very sore.

Alright this is what everyone needs to know this. YOUR DIET WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR MUSCLE GROWTH. If you don’t believe me go watch america’s hardest prisons or some show about prison. Look at the prisoners, some of them are massive. Prisoners don’t eat a lot of protein, it’s mainly just carbohydrates. This is the only other option to see if it works, to gain muscle, take in more calories than you burn. You will put on weight but you will put on muscle aswell, then you just need to lose that little bit of weight and your muscle will show. good luck

I absolutely love Carmen Electra’s Aerobic Striptease! It is more of a dance aerobic and you can get it at Wal-Mart pretty reasonable. There are 3 different routines and once you learn them, the run-thru takes no time. It helped me to lose inches and love handles fast… about 3-4 weeks and I could tell a difference. I could tell it was working the first time I did the instructional version because I was sore the next day… Every muscle that I used. Im not too sure about the diet part though. I know baked and grilled foods are supposed to be good and stay away from fried foods

I’m trying to lose weight, and do light lifting/tone up does this routine and diet look good?

Question by Sarcastic Sid: I’m trying to lose weight, and do light lifting/tone up does this routine and diet look good?
I lift weights 5 times a week. I do light weights high reps, work out a body part once a day individually about three exercise per each part. on top of that I run 45-60 min. after I lift weights.
My diet is 6-8 meals a day… I eat egg whites, oatmeal, veggies, fruits, tuna, chicken, and My caloric intake is about 2600 a day.
I am 220 lbs, 6feet.
I have been doing this for 2 and a half months and lost 15 lbs(which doesn’t seem like a lot)
Does this look like I am on the right track, does anyone have any suggestions.
thanx “ohmygawd’

Best answer:

Answer by ohmygawditsgab
i think 6-8 meals is a bit high but the food you eat sounds healthy for you, so i see no problems. to tone up, try doing more weight and less reps. that’s supposed to be better for you =]. all of the excerise sounds pretty good to me though. it sounds like you are doing things right, keep it up. good luck.

Home exercise moves, Diet plans?

Question by ♥Mrs Fike♥: Home exercise moves, Diet plans?
Okay. Well me and my husband recently decided to try to lose weight and get healthier before really trying to have a baby. The reason I’m including that is because we are trying to have a baby and I could be pregnant(not very far at all like a week or two) at pretty much all times. So the exercise moves can’t be too strenuous. Regardless being like a week or two pregnant nothing is going to hurt me but you get my point. I’ve already miscarried and I don’t want it to happen again.

So anyway. Let me paint you a picture.

I am like 5′ 5 1/2″ and I weigh 190 lbs. I’m not like extremely obese or anything. My legs are fat-ish but I have problems working them out because they get really huge (muscular) really quickly. When I was in high school in weights my legs looked like body builder legs. I could squat almost 400lbs… really ucky looking. Don’t want that again. My stomach isn’t THAT fat but I’d like to slim it and my love handles down. And my biggest problem area is my arms. Mainly the top part. If I could just make them smaller I’d be fine with the rest. Not sure why they got so big and nothing else in correspondance. But yeah. Anyone know some moves to directly fix those areas? Any good diet plans either are appreciated!

So I’m wanting:
*Exercise moves to
-flatten tummy&love handles
-Slim legs(mainly top part)
-Slim down arms(mainly top part)
-Good Diet ideas

Thanks to all serious answers!

My girlfriend tried all sorts of different diets and products, most without success. Her friend let her try out a new Acai Berry product she was using and she now swears by it.

Shes lost over 13 pounds already, most of the weight went from her tummy, hips, bottom and thighs. Apparently the Acai Berry flushes all the waste out your system and cleanses your body of toxins and bacteria.

She got her own supply for free too, only had to pay like $ 5 shipping.

Here’s their site if you want to check it out: http://tinyurl.com/acaiberries

Diet/ Supplements for weight lifting?

Question by Nathaniel Young: Diet/ Supplements for weight lifting?
Im 17 years old and i have started weight lifting. im 6 foot tall and about 165lbs. my main goal is to gain muscle and strength. i started a mass building routine this week, its an 8 week program. i know a couple of guys who have done it and seen results. what i need help with is my diet/supplements. is this a good schedule?
Breakfast- usually a multivitamin, an apple and a granola bar or granola cereal
Lunch- whatever the school is having
Preworkout- creatine and a handful of almonds
Postworkout- whey protein shake
Dinner- fish or chicken and some veggies, sometimes rice or macaroni, just depends. nothing unhealthy really
Snack- peanut butter and jelly sandwhich on wheat bread or turkey sandwhich
Before bed- Casein protein shake

Best answer:

Answer by Mike
That sounds good. With your preworkout you should consume a light carb, such as white bread, to allow the creatine and protein to absorb into your muscles faster.
