How low can I go calorie wise before my body fights back and I stop losing weight?

Question by Peteamus: How low can I go calorie wise before my body fights back and I stop losing weight?
I weighed 330 lbs. Now I weigh 250. I eat a little less than 1800 cal a day of highly nutritious, organic food. On saturday I eat up to 2500 calories. Through cardio, I burn 300 to 400 per day. I have stopped losing weight. I have changed my cardio routine and added weight lifting. Do I need to eat more and if so, how much more?

Can I keep gaining muscle on a very low calorie diet?

Question by nswlawson2: Can I keep gaining muscle on a very low calorie diet?
I’ve been on a pretty calorie restricted diet(800-1200 calories a day) starting about four months ago while also on a weight lifting program. I’m 30 years old, 5′-10″ and started out at 285lbs. I’ve lost more than half the weight I think I need to lose(down to just under 200lbs this week.) The problem is I also need to add muscle, and while in the beginning I noticed my strength increasing, lately it’s seemed to stall almost completely.

I’ve tried a few different things thinking it was my workouts and not my diet. I’ve tried changing up my weight lifting routines, increasing my workouts to every day of the week and lifting heavier weights for less reps. I’ve been told you need lots of protein to rebuild muscle, but I push myself until I can’t do anymore reps and my muscles are not even very sore.

Alright this is what everyone needs to know this. YOUR DIET WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR MUSCLE GROWTH. If you don’t believe me go watch america’s hardest prisons or some show about prison. Look at the prisoners, some of them are massive. Prisoners don’t eat a lot of protein, it’s mainly just carbohydrates. This is the only other option to see if it works, to gain muscle, take in more calories than you burn. You will put on weight but you will put on muscle aswell, then you just need to lose that little bit of weight and your muscle will show. good luck

Aerobic videos. If you have none, jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups, squats, lunges. You can jog in place to music…jumping rope is the best

tips for a calorie counting diet for a boy!!!!?

Okay, I am 12 years old and I weigh 188 lbs. and want to go on a diet(a calorie counting diet). I already talked to my doctor and she said that I should intake 1600 to 1800 calories per day to loose weight. I plan to exercise for 30 mins each day(not including daily P.E. at school) on weekdays and 1 hour on weekends. I am writing down my calorie intake for every thing that I eat and then adding it all up at the end of the day. I also should note that I’m only drinking water, no sodas no juice no anything except water or fruit flavored water. I was wondering what would be some cool healthy, low-calorie snacks and and fun ways for me to exercise.

What is your favorite low calorie food that is also filling?

It could be a vegetable, fruit, meal or a snack. I’m trying to limit my calories, but I enjoy the function of tasting and chewing food.

What have you found is the most low calorie diet friendly energy bar?

I like to use energy bars as snack replacements during my diet, but most of them are as bad candy bars, calorie and sugar wise. What’s your favorite energy bar? Any not made with crappy ingredients like high fructose corn syrup would be great as well.

Ideas for lower calorie protein snacks with fruit.?

I am prediabetic with a lot of current problems with blood sugar. I almost can’t eat fruit at all because my blood sugar goes so high. I need suggestions as to what I can combine with one serving of say cherries (15 cherries) that will help to stop the spiking. I am trying to lose weight in a healthy way, but it’s not doing a whole lot of good with my blood sugar as they seem to be getting higher, not lower. :( I don’t see my doctor until mid-September and my insurance won’t cover the diabetic educator unless I have a diabetic diagnosis, so I’m kindof on my own with my meter. Thanks.
