What are some exercises I can do at home?

Question by Morgan: What are some exercises I can do at home?
I’m 16, and since it’s summer, I’m home most of the time. My mom works and I can’t drive myself, so I have no access to a gym or exercise equipment. I’m really trying to lose weight, so what can I do at home to help?

Push-ups are always good to help tone up the arms.
Doing the Bent-Knee sit ups really help work the abs ( this is one of my favs)
Another really good one is the Front Plank this one is a bit hard but it really works ( also one of my favs)

Here is a website that should help you with more workouts and will show you how to perform the workouts properly.

Crunches and push-ups work many of your major muscle groups without the need for extra equipment. For cardio, you can turn up the music and dance like crazy, or jog in place, or invest a few bucks in a DVD (I love the Bellydancing for Beginners DVD, since it’s a great workout that also feels like I’m learning something). You can also throw yourself into your everyday chores and errands and get some workout potential out of those; I wrote a blog entry (below) about sneaky ways to get some exercise out of everyday routines, so that might help you, too. Good luck!

studies of usage of exercise equipment?

Question by buff: studies of usage of exercise equipment?
I seem to remember reading about a couple of studies about usage of home exercise equipment, with conclusions that most home exercise equipment never gets used more than a few months, then sits idle. I would appreciate a reference to those studies. Thanks.

“Several small studies have also shown that in both clinical and nonclinical samples reduced access to specific food products or reduced access to sedentary physical activities (e.g., television viewing and exercise equipment) can have positive influences on body weight over time. ”

It will definitely help but you need to mix it up. My personal trainer says you need to shock your system to keep producing great results. Your body will get used to the same routine and start to burn less fat. You need to keep changing your routine to keep the body reacting in maximum effectiveness.

Pill for women that helps burn off fat with exercise?

Question by Layacarea: Pill for women that helps burn off fat with exercise?
So I’m not looking for one of those lazy diet pills where they promise that if you just take them the pounds will fall right off. I exercise at home a bit, but am kinda limited to how much I can do. While I have seen some increase in muscle on my body the last couple of weeks, a lot of the flab is still there. Is there a good over-the-counter pill for women that helps burn off stubborn fat with exercise and that WORKS?
Thanks in advance.

Best answer:

Answer by Lalitha
dont go for pills. better do skipping and running. concentrate on your calorie consumption. this itself will help you to reduce and maintain. dont starve.
